SCOUTING
Group Scout Leader:  Mr. Thilak Jayasiri – GSL

Scouts rally every Wednesdays where they are trained and groomed to be leaders. To begin the year a Scout training camp was held with the participation of 46 students. The annual ‘Job Week’ ‘was held successfully while 24 Scouts actively took part in it.

As usual the scouts participated in the guard of honour of the Annual Prize Giving. Nine scouts took part in a hike to qualify for the second class badge and four scouts proceeded on a hike to qualify for their District Commissioner’s Award.

Three Scouts participated in the 32 Km hike to qualify for the Venture Journey.

At the 75th Anniversary exhibition, scouts organized a special stall.

Mr. R.M.T. Jayasiri participated in the District Commissioner’s conference held in Kandy in October 2017.


CUBBING

The Cubbing movement of the College has continued to function from its founding days of the College. The movement continues to gather interest among the Primary School Students with sessions held every Wednesday after school.

At present there are around 30 students who actively take part in activities and games centered around the cubbing movement. After Grade 5 these students are automatically enrolled into the Scouting Movement.

Mrs. Harshini Mahakumarage completed her phase V and was awarded the Wood Badge at Batticaloa. She was also appointed as the Assistant District Commissioner (Cubs) of the Badulla District.
