Your child is the most important person to you and to our college. If your child is safe, happy and successful at S. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela, we will have a successful and effective school. My mission as Headmaster is to ensure that all students achieve their personal best.

This website introduces you to S. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela and the exciting educational opportunities we offer. More than this, it is a challenge to prospective parents and students to join a school where they will be expected to be ambitious for success. It is a college of quality and character, where staff and students work together and are proud of the success they achieve. We believe that strong partnerships between students, staff and parents add strength and purpose to our work.

The Board of Governors, headed by the Bishop of Colombo (Church of Ceylon), governs our school. We aim to be inclusive and provide education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We also educate pupils from Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim religious backgrounds. The distinctive contribution of each tradition is valued. We work closely with our parish and community in fostering attitudes and values, which will provide firm foundations for a future within a global society.

At present, our college is a fully functioning school with a primary, middle, upper and AL sections and a roll of over 1,500 students. Our GCE O/L results have been encouraging with a number of pupils achieving straight A's. The GCE A/L results too have produced brilliant students who have entered Sri Lankan and overseas universities. In addition, we have produced numerous President Scouts in the recent past. All these are tremendous feats, and pupils and staff are to be congratulated.
