“Reading makes a full man” said English philosopher Sir Francis Bacon. Reading nourishes the intellect and nurtures the imagination. There is nothing more relaxing and soothing than sitting in the corner of a room with a book in your hands. Without travelling, without even moving an inch, the reader is transported to a new world and is exposed to a new culture and new ideas.

The Reading Day was held at S. Thomas' College, Bandarawela on 5th October, 2022.  This is an annual event held within the school aimed to encourage younger readers to love reading! The children were encouraged to read a book and summarise the contents.  At the end of the session, all the children were refreshed with a glass of belimal and hakuru :)
